Currently obsessing over two things:
2. Head Scarfs
I don't know what it is about tulle... maybe it is the obvious connection to ballerinas and princesses that gives me the uncontrollable urge to twirl around like a prepubescent schoolgirl (which is, not so surprisingly, incredibly difficult in 5 inch heels!). Its true that tulle has been around, coming in and out of mainstream fashion, but never really becoming a dominating trend (this doesn't include wedding dresses btw, an area in which tulle reigns supreme). I guess it may be because, if done wrong, tulle can be 'like, totally tacky!'. I've discovered that keeping it simple is key - think more along the lines of Carrie Bradshaw in the opening scene of Sex in the City, rather than 80s prom tulle nightmare. Also, neutral colours tend to translate better if you want a more subtle look.
As previously mentioned, I am also going ga-ga over head scarfs, ever since I saw this post by Keiko Lynn (blogger extrodinare - here). I love that you can brighten up any outfit, even if its just a simple jeans & tank top, with a brightly coloured, perfectly tied head scarf.
I just wanted to also say a big thanks to the boy for this shoot! He sure did deliver under pressure, despite the 30 minute time limit and the influx of tourist walking into a majority of the shots. We took the photos at Lady Macquaire's Chair in Sydney. An amazing spot that my girlfriends and I had a wonderful Christmas picnic a few years ago. It provides panoramic views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera house as well as an abundance of greenery and sandstone. If you are in Sydney this summer I recommend you check it out.
So, this will be my last post before the boy and I jet off to Thailand for 29 sun-soaking, beer sipping, ocean dipping days! And hell, im just gonna say it.. we DESERVE this holiday! In between work, assessments and finals there hasn't been time to breathe - let alone create blog posts. So good news: I will definitely be delivering more outfit posts over the next month! and even better... they will be against the topical beauty of the Thai landscape!
Wishing you all a lovely Summer to those in Australia - its gonna be a scorcher! And to those in other (cooler) parts of the world, feel free to tune in to upcoming posts if you want to fantasise about being somewhere warmer!
